For us, LED spotlights are the only real lighting option in sport! You can see that just by looking at the floodlights in professional sport. Spotlights are used everywhere. Why? Because they are more efficient and more durable. Our spotlights with lens technology can direct the light they produce precisely where we want it thanks to different beam angles. Scattered light from panes, mirrors and protective grilles is avoided. This makes the spotlights much more efficient than panels or tubes that emit their light in a scattered and uncontrolled manner into the environment. The LEDs can also produce 160lm/W there, but not all of this reaches the playing field and so the tennis court is darker.
Sensibly designed and built spotlights are also long-lasting and more or less maintenance-free (removing dust or leaves is never harmful). We often hear that LEDs do not generate heat. But LEDs get warm and if they overheat they can be damaged or even destroyed. Therefore, the heat generated must be sufficiently dissipated. Each of our LED modules is equipped with large cooling fins to dissipate the heat. These options are of course very limited with LED tubes and LED panels due to their design!
